Concept Renderings

The renderings above were created to establish several new concepts for a redesign of an existing searchlight model. Minimum envelope dimensions were provided based on the selected design components, and the concepts shown were developed for both functional ability as well as aesthetics. The final selection was a combination of a new reflector housing design and an existing gimbal mechanism. 3D CAD models were then developed to verify rotational clearances between the two major assemblies during operation. The client’s in-house engineering staff performed the mechanical design of the new reflector housing.
